I Am Short...
Hello, my name is Rumaitha and I am short. I’m actually just 154 cms tall. Now being short has its advantages which involves shopping both in the teenager section and adult section. I have more shoes that fit me than there are shoes that don’t, and I can wear the highest heels ever and still manage to be shorter than any guy I would go out with.
Ever since the first grade, I remembered being
labeled ‘shorty’ which ended up being my nickname in school, well coming to
think of it, it was more of a bully term than anything because it really did
annoy me that I was always placed at the front of the school assembly class row
and would always be picked on by being called out that name, but in the end I
grew to actually really love the fact that I am who I am. Now this hasn’t come
with its own set of insecurities which I battled with during my uni years and
it didn’t help one bit that I was actually in the land of Tall Men; The
Netherlands. But I grew to appreciate this height that may have seemed like a
curse in the beginning. So I am taking this day to appreciate my height and all
the cuteness and blessings this tiny figure has bestowed on me. So yay for Short Girl Appreciation Day :)
